Mackeanston House Dinner Menu

Dinner and Breakfast are normally served in the Conservatory overlooking the beautiful old walled garden with south-facing views to Stirling Castle, the Gargunnock hills and the Wallace Monument in the distance.

Fiona’s cooking is largely Organic, using an Aga. She bakes her own bread, makes jams and marmalade, and uses local organic ingredients wherever possible, including herbs, fruit and vegetables from the garden.

Fiona also tries to cater for all tastes, personal diets and  preferences for example: vegetarian, gluten-free and low fat. 

Price: £30 for 3 courses, £33 for 4 courses, both with coffee

Sample Breakfast Menu:-

  • Freshly-squeezed Orange Juice
  • Porridge made with pinhead Oatmeal, served with honey/brown sugar and cream
  • Cereals and fresh Fruit
  • Un-dyed Whole West Coast Kippers on the Bone
  • Un-dyed Smoked Haddock with organic Poached Eggs
  • Organic Scrambled Eggs ,with garden herbs and Smoked Salmon
  • Smoked Back Bacon,  local Leek & Pork Sausage, baby Tomatoes, chestnut Mushrooms and organic local Eggs.
  • Home-baked Bread, and our own jams, jellies and marmalade.      
  • Freshly-ground Italian coffee, Earl Grey or Indian tea

  • Spinach and Orange Soup with Aga-baked Herb Scones
  • Pan-fried Wild Venison Steak with Red Currant Sauce, Puree of Root Vegetables and Baby New Potatoes.

  • Cheese Board with locally made Oatcakes
  • Freshly Ground Italian blend Coffee with home made Tablet
